Tight Ends

High-Cost Option: Greg Olsen $6,900

This is Greg Olsen's highest pricetag of the season, but after putting up a 9-catch, 129-yard performance last week, it doesn't go unwarranted. Olsen's 104 targets lead the position, as he's become both Cam Newton's safety valve and primary target. After six straight weeks of double-digit fantasy outings, Olsen's 102.8 fantasy points over that time period trail only Delanie Walker's 111.1. The Falcons have given up the eighth-most fantasy points to tight ends and the fourth-most receptions to the position. Olsen looks to be in line for another big outing for this Carolina offense that's averaging 31.1 points per game.

Mid-Cost Option: Jordan Reed $5,100

Even in a tough loss last week to the Cowboys, Jordan Reed still saw eight targets directed his way. Reed's a mismatch against every defense, sees steady volume, and is able to capitalize that into quality production -- 7 of 10 games played this season he's hit value. Only Rob Gronkowski (9) has seen more targets within the opponent's 10-yard line than Reed (8), who's become the Redskins' go-to guy when they need points. Chicago has been pretty solid against tight ends on the season but have proved vulnerable when facing some of the league's better tight ends. In a poor week lacking great tight end options, Reed presents some built in safety at the position for those not willing to pay up for Olsen.

Low-Cost Option: Austin Seferian-Jenkins $2,700

This Buccaneers-Saints game projects to have the highest point total of the week, which should lead to a lot of the ancillary pieces of both offenses profiting in fantasy points. Despite limited snaps last week, Austin Seferian-Jenkins saw the second-most targets on the team (6) and has seen 19.8% of the team's targets in games he's played this season. ASJ gets a great matchup going against the Saints' defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends on the season. At only $2,700, Seferian-Jenkins presents great value, volume, and opportunity in a week with few great tight end matchups.

GPP Wildcard: Benjamin Watson $4,000

If this game goes off like it's supposed to, Benjamin Watson could stand to profit as he's also seeing nearly 20% of the team's targets in his last three games. After missing Thursday's practice this week, wide receiver Brandin Cooks looks to be questionable entering this week's game which could lead to Watson getting an even bigger slice of the pie in Week 14. Watson enters as numberFire's fourth-ranked tight end of the week. The Buccaneers rank near the middle of the pack in fantasy points allowed to tight ends, but we've seen that Watson's ceiling -- two 30-plus fantasy point outings this season -- is high enough to warrant some GPP consideration.
