The ageless one, Antonio Gates, starts us off, finishing as the 10th best tight end, per Reception NEP.
In his 13th season, Gates posted a 57.45 Reception NEP. It wasn’t a great season by Gates’ standards -- it was his lowest Reception NEP score since his rookie year in 2003 (30.72).
But Gates did play in only 11 games after serving a four-game suspension to start the year. Gates finished with 56 catches for 630 yards and 5 touchdowns. On an injury-riddled Chargers squad, he finished third on the team in receptions, third in receiving yards and second in receiving touchdowns.
In 2014, Gates finished as the second highest rated tight end in the league with a Reception NEP of 90.09.
