The 5 Most Improved NFL Defenses From the 2015 Season
Which NFL defenses jumped the most in our ranks from 2014 to 2015?

1. New York Jets

2015 Rank: 6
2014 Rank: 26
Rise: 20 spots

In the first year of the Todd Bowles regime, the Jets were the most improved defense in the league. With a star-studded defensive line including Muhammad Wilkerson (12 sacks), Leonard Williams, and Sheldon Richardson as well as Darrelle Revis (5 interceptions, league-leading four fumble recoveries) playing at a non-elite-but-solid level, the Jets finished first against the run and seventh against the pass.

Linebacker David Harris, in his ninth season in the league (all with the Jets), led the unit in tackles with 108. Going forward, they’ll need help opposite Revis, as Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine were liabilities at cornerback.
