Fantasy Football 2016 Rookie Mock Draft: Round 2
The numberFire crew continues their rookie mock draft with Round 2. Who were some of the biggest surprises?

2.02: Paul Perkins, RB, New York Giants

Drafter Comments

"While questions persist regarding his ability to function as a true three-down back, Perkins showed tremendous natural running ability at UCLA. With the talent quickly thinning in Round 2, I’ll bank on Perkins’ running style and a wide open Giants depth chart behind 31-year-old Rashad Jennings." -- Jason Green

Other Comments

"Perkins may have seen his value inflated by his landing spot as much as any back in this class. Sometimes a player's situation can be overvalued (think: Josh Robinson), but Perkins has a good skill-set and should have a chance to emerge from that crowded backfield, although Rashad Jennings is a very underrated player." -- Austan Kas

"The Giants' depth chart at running back is a confusing hodgepodge of mediocrity and ineptitude (Andre Williams). 31-year-old Rashad Jennings stands to get the lion's share of the carries, but Paul Perkins remains just an injury away from relevant snaps. Great dynasty hold." -- Tyler Buecher

"As the resident Giants' fan, I'm not really sure where Perkins fits in with this current crop of running backs. There's very little reason for the Giants to ever take Shane Vereen off the field, as this is an offense that should be looking to throw early and often. After him, I'm not sure Perkins is any better than Jennings. I just don't see where the touches come from." -- Anthony Amico
