The 10 Best NFL Offenses of the Last Decade
There's nothing more exciting in the NFL than an explosive offense. Which offenses were the best in the NFL over the last decade?

2013 Denver Broncos

Shocked to see another Peyton Manning-led offense on the list?

The Broncos were the class of the AFC in 2013, finishing first in the conference with a 13-3 record in the regular season and blowing through their first two playoff games, winning both by at least seven points. They were absolutely humiliated in the Super Bowl, losing 43-8 to the Seattle Seahawks, but that shouldn't take away form just how good the offense was.

While they only rank fifth on this list as a unit, their league-leading 0.36 Passing NEP per play was the third-highest of the decade, and their overall 0.20 NEP per play led the league.

Peyton Manning had the most productive season of all time for a quarterback, setting the single-season records for both passing yards (5,477) and passing touchdowns (55). He unsurprisingly dominated our metrics as well, and his 278.52 Passing NEP was not only the best mark of his career, but is the highest score in our database (which dates back to the 2000 season), dwarfing the next best total of 259.40.

The Denver receiving corps was loaded with talent, with Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and Wes Welker each seeing at least 100 targets, and tight end Julius Thomas breaking out with 90 targets. The four of them each also recorded 10-plus touchdowns.

Despite the ball being spread between four dangerous targets, Demaryius finished third in the league in Reception NEP, while the other three all finished 31st or better (and Julius Thomas, who ranked 31st, also missed two games that season).

Knowshon Moreno also had an impressive season, recording 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground while catching 60 passes for 548 yards. He ranked third among running backs that year in both Rushing NEP and Reception NEP.

Being blown out in the Super Bowl will always hang a dark cloud over the Broncos' 2013 season, but even by Manning's historically great standards, 2013 was an absolutely phenomenal season.
