The 12 Best Quarterback Passing Seasons of the Last 12 Years
Among all the great seasons from quarterbacks over the last decade plus, which passers have put together the most elite of campaigns?

3. Drew Brees, 2011

The 2011 New Orleans Saints ripped off eight straight wins to finish the season with a 13-3 record and an NFC South Championship. The 13 wins were good enough for only a Wild Card, though, and the Saints eventually lost in the Divisional Round to San Francisco.

Drew Brees led the league in with the third-best Passing NEP total since 2000 at 235.48. Oddly enough, Brees' mark was only 4.18 points higher than Aaron Rodgers that season, who's 231.10 Passing NEP was highlighted on the previous slide.

Quarterbacks who made at last 250 drop backs that season averaged 0.04 Passing NEP per drop back. Brees' 0.35 total is tied for the fifth best since 2000 and was 0.31 points above league average in 2011.

Brees completed a NFL single-season record 71.2 percent of his passes for 5,476 yards, the second-most in any single season. He threw for 46 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2011.
