This week's edition of Sunday Night Football features Kansas City Chiefs traveling to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
With the FanDuel main slate ending after the afternoon games, single-game slates allow DFS enthusiasts to stay involved through the evening. For those unfamiliar, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.
Bookmakers currently peg the Chiefs as 1-point favorites with a 55-point over/under. As the highest totaled game on the slate, scoring should occur throughout this contest. With that said, here are Sunday night's notable plays.
MVP Consideration
Russell Wilson ($16,000): While Patrick Mahomes remains the top value on the slate, Russell Wilson finds himself in a good spot and will surely draw less ownership than Mahomes does. Playing highly-efficient football, Wilson has at least 18 fantasy points in 9 of his last 10 games. Kansas City ranks 18th in pass defense, according to our schedule-adjusted metrics, but has allowed the most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season (4,265). To make matters worse, Kendall Fuller injured his wrist last week. Fuller looks likely to play, but his effectiveness remains questionable. Russell Wilson remains in play for the "MVP" slot and could give you a big leg up if he has a huge day.
Chris Carson ($13,500): With Rashaad Penny looking questionable for this contest, Chris Carson should work as the Seahawks' workhorse back in Week 16. Without Penny last week, Carson handled 28 touches, racking up 148 total yards and a score. The Chiefs sit 31st in rush defense, according to our metrics, and have allowed the sixth-most rushing yards to opposing backs this year (1,532). Carson looks like a sharp play even if Penny suits up, and without Penny, Carson would become a lock.
Tyreek Hill ($13,000): With Tyreek Hill recording only 4 catches for 46 yards last week, recency bias could push Hill's ownership down this week. Hill currently has a massive 1,161 receiving yards on 73 catches this season. He always comes with big-play ability, owning the sixth-most air yards in the NFL (1,635). Seattle's 15th-ranked pass defense -- by our numbers -- has shown cracks throughout the year, and Hill has shown matchup-proof ability, with the potential to break any slate.
Doug Baldwin ($11,500): Returning from injury in Week 15, Doug Baldwin went on to lead the Seahawks with 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Kansas City has shown vulnerability to receivers throughout the year, allowing the eighth-most yards to wideouts (2,402). While Seattle has been the run-heaviest team in the league to date, Seattle's overall offensive efficiency keeps Baldwin in play at this price, and Seattle may have to throw more in this one to keep pace with KC's attack.
Value Plays
Mike Davis ($8,000): Acting as direct compliment to Chris Carson, Mike Davis played 44% of Seattle's snaps and saw a team-high 8 targets in Week 15. Kansas City has allowed the third-most passing yards to running backs this season (887), creating an avenue for success for Davis. While Davis saw only five carries last week, his receiving chops keep him in play this week, and he could really benefit from Seattle falling behind.
David Moore ($7,500): A true shot in the dark, David Moore has one catch for nine yards combined in his last three games. However, he recorded snap shares of 79% and 77% each of the last two weeks, showing enough usage to warrant single-game slate consideration. Despite only having one catch in last three games, Moore easily leads Seattle with 228 air yards, providing the big-play ability that takes down large-field tournaments.
Chris Conley ($6,500): With Sammy Watkins injured, Chris Conley has stepped in as Mahomes' number-three pass catcher, behind Tyreek and Travis Kelce. Conley has played at least 92% of the Chiefs' snaps in each game Watkins has missed. In this span, Conley has 10% of the team targets and 12% of the team air yards, so he's definitely not a crucial piece of the offense. But he plays a lot of snaps and is tied to an electric quarterback, giving him appeal on this slate.
Ed Dickson ($4,500): Another complete dart throw on the Seattle side, Seahawks' tight ends have popped up periodically for productive games throughout the year. Will Dissly had 100 yards receiving in Week 1 and tight ends have scored five other times this year. Ed Dickson appears to be pulling away from Nick Vannett, playing on 61% of snaps last week while Vannett saw only 27%. It should be noted that Dickson has not seen more than two targets in a game this season. He remains in play due only to his increased snap share and the leverage gained with this type of player in a lineup.
