Week 4's Sunday Night Football clash features an exciting showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Following the main slate of action, fantasy enthusiasts can stay involved throughout the night by playing in FanDuel's Sunday night's single-game contests.
For those unfamiliar, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.
Bookmakers currently peg the Cowboys as 3.0-point favorites with a 47.5-point over/under. With a projected high-scoring affair in store, here are the notable matchups to target on this slate.
MVP Considerations
Dak Prescott ($15,500) - Always in consideration on single-game slates, quarterbacks often finish as their team's scoring leader. On this particular single-game slate, Dak Prescott holds the advantage over Teddy Bridgewater. Prescott currently averages 307 passing yards per game with a total of nine touchdowns and only two interceptions. Completing an absurd 74.5 percent of his passes, Prescott deserves consideration in the MVP slot. Improving matters further, the Saints have allowed the second-most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks (957). According to our schedule-adjusted metrics, New Orleans ranks 24th in pass defense.
Alvin Kamara ($14,500) - On the New Orleans side, Alvin Kamara remains a standout play. Without Drew Brees last week, Kamara recorded a season-high 16 rushing attempts while playing 88 percent of the snaps. Kamara also led the team with nine catches on 10 targets, amassing 92 yards through the air. According to our metrics, the Cowboys rank 10th in run defense. However, they've allowed 151 receiving yards to enemy backs, creating an avenue for fantasy success for Kamara
Amari Cooper ($13,500) - Pivoting away from Prescott, Amari Cooper makes sense in the MVP slot as Prescott's preferred target. Cooper currently averages 79.3 receiving yards per game, with four total touchdowns in three games. New Orleans has allowed the second-most receiving yards to opposing wideouts through three games (742).
Value Picks
Ted Ginn Jr. ($7,500) - Examining cheap pass catchers on this slate, Ted Ginn looks like the best bargain Saint. Ginn has been volatile through three weeks with one game above 100 receiving yards and two games below 15 yards. However, the Saints already ruled out Tre'Quan Smith with an injury, setting up Ginn to play an every-down role. Without Smith last week, Ginn racked up five targets. Dallas' pass defense currently ranks 15th in the NFL.
Devin Smith ($7,500) - As for cheap options on Dallas, Devin Smith presents the cheapest viable attachment to Prescott. With Michael Gallup out for Week 4, Smith should step into a near every-down role for the 'Boys. Last week, Smith recorded two catches for 39 yards on five targets from Prescott. With Dallas favored by 3.0 points with a 47.5-point game total, Smith currently projects for 3.16 catches and 43.8 receiving yards, according to our models.
Brett Maher ($9,000) - Unlike main slate action, single-game slates allow the use of kickers. In games with friendly scoring environments, kickers can often lead to cheap points. On this particular slate, Brett Maher projects to record more points with the Cowboys favored by 3.0. This year, Maher is two of three on field goals and a perfect 13 of 13 on extra points.
