In a unique fantasy format, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests, and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.
Our Brandon Gdula has done a deep dive on single-game strategy, and we have projections for the single-game slate if you select the game from the slate tab. It's worth checking out both of those things before you make your lineups.
MVP Candidates
Patrick Mahomes ($17,000): In an offense ranked tenth in pass rate, Kansas City's stud quarterback stands as numberFire's top option with a 19.0 fantasy projection against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defense unit rated sixth (11.9) in FanDuel points allowed per game to the position this season. With most opponents so far choosing to attack Tampa Bay's defense through the air at a 67.2% rate, Mahomes should have plenty of opportunities to reach his projections including 24.1 completions for 255.7 yards and 1.6 touchdowns on 36.3 attempts.
Tom Brady ($15,000): With the expected return of Tampa Bay's top three receiving options, the Buccaneers' offense could potentially increase their 58.6% pass rate versus a Kansas City defense being attacked through the air at the sixth highest percentage while also ranking 24th (21.0) in FanDuel points allowed per game to quarterbacks. As numberFire's second rated player on Sunday night, Brady's expectation includes 23.8 completions for 1.8 touchdowns and 258.7 yards for a total of 17.8 FanDuel points.
Travis Kelce ($14,000): With a team-high 6.2 expected receptions for 69.2 yards on 8.7 targets, Kansas City's stud tight end has a potential eruption spot versus a Buccaneers team allowing 6.3 receptions on 8.3 targets per game to the position this season.
Leonard Fournette ($13,500): Ranking first among the slate with 21.8 touches for 96.5 scrimmage yards and 0.61 touchdowns, Tampa Bay's reliable veteran has an underrated spot versus a defense allowing 29.3 touches and 21.2 FanDuel points per game to running backs. According to Pro Football Focus, Fournette's fantasy production is due for some positive regression with the fourth highest rating under expectation among starting backs this season.
Flex Considerations
Mike Evans ($13,000): Even with a full receiving group, Evans ranks first among his team with 5.5 receptions for 71.5 yards and 0.59 touchdowns on 8.7 targets. Tampa Bay's veteran wideout has a good spot against a Kansas City allowing 7.4 FanDuel points to receivers in the red zone while also giving up 14.3 receptions for 159 yards per game on 20 targets.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($12,000): Despite a decreased role to a 40% offensive snap percentage in Week Three, Edwards-Helaire still registered 12 total touches including five receptions for 39 yards and one touchdown on a 89.5% route participation rate. Inside the opposing five-yard line this season, the 23-year old has seen two rushing attempts and two targets.
Chris Godwin ($11,000): In his second potential appearance this season, Godwin ranks second among his team's receiving options in scoring (10.2 FanDuel points), value (9.83), targets (7.15), receptions (5.04) and yardage (54.2).
Julio Jones ($10,500): After three limited practices, Jones is expected to return as Tampa Bay's third receiver in a versatile role that lined him out wide on 63.6% and 36.4% in the slot on 22 plays this season. As Tampa Bay's third rated wideout, Jones' projection includes 3.5 receptions for 45.3 yards on 5.3 targets.
JuJu Smith-Schuster ($10,000): As Kansas City's primary slot option (42.7% on 103 pass plays,) the 25-year old receiver ranks second among his team with 4.2 receptions for 39.4 yards on 6.3 targets.
Matthew Wright ($9,000) / Ryan Succop ($9,000): Ranking fifth among his team in value (0.92), Wright will make his season debut against a Buccaneers' team allowing 3.7 FanDuel points per game to kickers this season while Succop is averaging 1.3 field goal successes on 1.7 attempts and 3.6 extra point conversions on 3.7 attempts in nine home games since last season.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($8,500): Kansas City's speedy wideout is an underrated choice ranking fourth among today's receiving options in yardage (49.6) and fifth in targets (6.0).
Jerick McKinnon ($6,500): With today's fifth highest value rating (1.03), Kansas City's veteran back could be the best choice among their backfield after he registered several season-highs in Week Three with seven rushing attempts on a 52% offensive snap percentage.
