In a unique fantasy format, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests, and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.
Our Brandon Gdula has done a deep dive on single-game strategy, and we have projections for the single-game slate if you select the game from the slate tab. It's worth checking out both of those things before you make your lineups.
MVP Candidates
Tyreek Hill ($16,000): In a mouth-watering spot against a Pittsburgh Steelers' defense ranked last in FanDuel points (37.9) allowed per game to receivers, Miami's explosive wideout rates third overall with a 14.2 fantasy projection and first among tonight's pass catchers in receptions (5.8), yardage (73.6), receiving touchdowns (0.62) and targets (8.97). In four games this season with his current starting quarterback, Hill has averaged 7.8 receptions for 119.3 yards on 7.8 targets.
Tua Tagovailoa ($15,500): After a multi-week absence while in concussion protocol, Tagovailoa is ranked first overall with a 18.0 FanDuel point versus a Steelers' unit allowing 20.7 FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks. In an offense dropping back 65.2% of the time, the 24-year old's projection includes 22.5 completions for 1.8 touchdowns and 248.2 yards on 34.5 pass attempts and 2.5 carries for 10.9 yards.
Kenny Pickett ($14,500): Ranking third overall with a 15.6 FanDuel point projection and a 1.08 value rating, Pittsburgh's rookie quarterback has an underrated matchup against a Miami defense giving up 21.7 FanDuel points and 23.3 completions for 267.2 yards and 1.7 touchdowns per game to his position. In an offense leaning towards moving the ball in the air with a 61.0% pass percentage, Pickett's expectation includes 22.4 completions for 1.2 touchdowns and 237.4 yards on 33.8 attempts and 3.8 carries for 16.7 yards.
Jaylen Waddle ($12,500): Even with Tyreek Hill commanding high volume, Miami's second-year wideout is still a viable option for MVP consideration when examining his Week Seven expectation including Sunday night's second highest amount of receiving yardage (65.4) and the third most receptions (5.1) and targets (7.9). In 16 career games playing with Tagovailoa, Waddle has hauled in 6.9 receptions for 74.4 yards per game.
Raheem Mostert ($10,500): With numberFire's top value rating at 1.29 and tonight's fourth overall projection at 13.5, the Dolphins' veteran running back has a high-ceiling spot against a Pittsburgh team allowing 20.8 FaDuel points and 29.8 touches for 134.8 scrimmage yards per game to running backs. In his past three games, Mostert has completely taken the lead over Miami's backfield with 17 touches per game and offensive snap percentages of 72%, 69%, and 62%
Flex Considerations
Najee Harris ($13,000): As Pittsburgh's second ranked offensive player with a 11.2 FanDuel point projection, the Steelers' running back has an undervalued opportunity versus a Miami defense ranked 20th in FanDuel points allowed per game (20.4) while also allowing an alarming 6.8 in the red zone. Harris currently rates second among the slate in touches (17.3) and scrimmage yards (74.1).
Diontae Johnson ($11,500): Rating as the Steelers' top pass catcher with 5.5 receptions for 58.6 yards on 8.8 targets, Johnson has a matchup to break out against a Dolphins team giving up 31.9 FanDuel points and 12.3 catches and 171.3 yards per game to wide receivers. The 26-year old is producing 4.0 receptions on 8.0 targets in three games with Pickett.
Chase Claypool ($10,000): In a primary slot role (80.8%), Claypool ranks third among his team in receiving (42.9) and targets (5.4) while also adding some rushing upside with eight carries this season.
Jason Sanders ($9,500) / Chris Boswell ($9,000): Miami's veteran kickers has converted 83.3% of his 18 field goal attempts and 96.4% of his extra point tries in 12 home games since 2021 while Boswell has recorded a 75% success rate in 24 attempts in 11 road home games in the same time period.
Miami D/ST ($9,000): On 211 pass attempts, the Steelers' offensive line has allowed a 15.5% pressure rate, 14 quarterback hits, and an average of 2.4 seconds in the pocket while Miami's defense has accounted for a 15.7% pressure percentage and a 5.4% quarterback knockdown rate.
George Pickens ($8,500): Pittsburgh's rookie wideout has flashed some chemistry with his quarterback, producing 5.0 receptions for 70.7 yards on 7.3 targets in three games. Pickens ranks second among his team in yardage (49.9) and targets (6.3).
Pat Freiermuth ($8,000): In a sneaky spot against a Dolphins' team giving up 6.0 receptions for 52 yards on 7.3 targets, Freiermuth is second on his team in receptions (3.9) and tied for third in targets (5.42). The second-year tight end has also seen underrated volume with Pickett under center, averaging 4.5 receptions for 48.5 yards.
