Green Bay Packers rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling is the next wide receiver up if Randall Cobb (hamstring) and Geronimo Allison (concussion) are unavailable against the Detroit Lions in Week 5, head coach Mike McCarthy said.
McCarthy said he has "great confidence" in his rookie receivers -- Valdes-Scantling, J'Mon Moore and Equanimeous St. Brown -- and that they will "have a role," but Valdes-Scantling was the only one specifically mentioned by name. If Cobb and Allison sit versus the Lions, the fifth-round pick figures to be the primary beneficiary.
Valdes-Scantling is the WR46 in numberFire's Week 5 fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to score 7.8 FanDuel points at a cost of $4,800.
