The Chicago Bears signed second-round rookie tight end Cole Kmet to a four-year contract.
Kmet is expected to be able to contribute both as a downfield threat and as a plus run-blocker. He posted an impressive 4.70 40-yard dash for his size (6-foot-4, 262 pounds), but Kmet is limited as a pass-catcher. Prior to a 43-catch junior year, Kmet had only 17 catches and 176 yards combined through his first two seasons (13 games). He figures to enter training camp third on the depth chart behind Jimmy Graham and Demtetrius Harris.
numberFire's models project Kmet for 36.0 targets, 24.6 receptions, 241.9 yards, and 1.7 touchdowns this season. He's the TE42 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
