Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers is playing "pretty flawless football" in his last three games, according to Colts General Manager Chris Ballard.
Ballard delivered his thoughts on the Colts new quarterback's play thus far on a radio show on Monday. He said that "you judge quarterbacks by wins—plain and simple. Did we do what it takes to win the game? And I think Philip’s playing really at a high level, he’s completing over 70 percent of his throws" and added that Rivers "has been playing pretty flawless football and made some really big third-down throws this week versus Chicago. We couldn’t be more happy to have Philip here in Indianapolis.” Through four games, Rivers is Pro Football Focus' eleventh graded quarterback and has the Colts sitting at 3-1. Behind the Colts' excellent offensive line, he has taken just three sacks, tied for the fewest in the league with Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. In Week 5, Rivers will face a Cleveland Browns defense rated 30th worst against quarterbacks in numberFire's advanced stats.
Rivers' Week 5 projection includes 255.2 yards, 1.70 passing touchdowns, 0.9 interceptions, and 16.3 FanDuel points. He is the QB20 in our Week 5 rankings.
