Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will be benched for rookie Jalen Hurts in Sunday's Week 14 game against the New Orleans Saints, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The move was expected after Jalen Hurts replaced Wentz in the third quarter of the Eagles' loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday. Hurts immediately provided a spark for the offense after Wentz had completed just 6-of-15 attempts for 40 yards and was sacked four times. He has thrown a league-worst 15 interceptions with only 16 touchdowns this season while experiencing one of the biggest passer rating drop-offs in NFL history.
Wentz averaged 17.8 FanDuel points (QB21) over 12 starts and is tied with Sam Darnold for the second-worst adjusted completion percentage (70.1) among quarterbacks with at least half of their team's dropbacks. His adjusted yards per pass attempt (5.2) is also lower than anyone with at least 300 throws this year.
