Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Jaylen Waddle should be an "instant impact player" in Miami's offense, writes ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques.
Waddle has been the one healthy wideout among a litany of injuries and policy reasons that caused various Dolphins' pass-catchers to miss practice time over the past month. The No. 6 overall pick from this year's class and a former college teammate of Tua Tagovailoa, Waddle could quickly emerge as the Dolphins' top target this season.
numberFire's models project Waddle for 66.4 receptions, 102.1 targets, 769.7 yards, and 5.07 touchdowns this season. Waddle averaged 18.9 yards per grab in college, including 21.1 per catch in 2020, which ranked in the 96th percentile, according to PlayerProfiler. Waddle also led all wideouts in the 2021 class in yards per route run, per Pro Football Focus.
