Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with bruised ribs, Tom Pelissero reports.
The good news is that Tagovailoa's initial X-rays came back negative, meaning the second-year quarterback appears to have avoided any broken bones. He's set to have MRI's done tomorrow to determine the severity of his injury. His day is almost guaranteed to be over.
We could be looking at a multi-week absence for Tua; as we saw with running back Cam Akers last season, bruised ribs or cartilage can keep even the toughest players sidelined. For as long as Tua is sidelined, expect Jacoby Brissett to operate the Dolphins' offense.
