According to Michael Gehlken, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (knee) ran routes for the first time during Thursday's joint practice with the Los Angeles Chargers.
For the first time since January's ACL injury, Gallup made the next step in his recovery by running routes and catching passes towards the conclusion of Thursday's practice. "It just feels like I'm progressing," said the Cowboys' wideout when asked about his status. "Getting better every day. When I get back, I'm going to come out here and help the team regardless. That's just all I'm waiting on."
Despite Gallup's recent progress, Dallas is still expecting the 26-year old to spend more time on the team's PUP list. While Gallup is sidelined, Jalen Tolbert and Dalton Schultz are expected to fill in as their second receiving threat behind Ceedee Lamb. Tolbert's current 2022 yearly projection includes 56.8 receptions for 675.8 yards and 6.3 touchdowns on 90.2 targets while Schultz's expectation includes 70.8 receptions for 706.4 yards and 5.6 touchdowns on 102.3 targets.
