The Denver Broncos placed running back Mike Boone (ankle) on injured reserve Monday.
Boone injured his ankle on Sunday and he will now miss a minimum of four weeks. The Broncos signed Marlon Mack off of the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad on Monday to replace Boone as the third running back behind Melvin Gordon and Latavius Murray. The Broncos will travel to London in Week 8 to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Gordon out-snapped Murray 40-31 and out-carried him 11-8 while also leading the backfield with 27 routes run. He finished with 50 yards on 13 touches and Murray had 21 yards on 10 touches. For the season, Gordon is averaging 2.58 yards after contact per attempt, compared to 2.41 for Murray.
