Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks (wrist/non-injury) did not practice on Tuesday.
Cooks was downgraded from a full participant on Monday and he tweeted his apparent displeasure with not being traded by Tuesday's deadline, so there's uncertainty about the receiver's status for Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nico Collins (groin) remained out Tuesday, so the Texans might be without their two leading receivers at home on Thursday. If that's the case, Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore, and Tyron Johnson will attempt to catch passes from Davis Mills against the Eagles' secondary. There will also be more targets available for Rex Burkhead and Dameon Pierce out of the backfield.
numberFire's models currently project Cooks for 11.0 FanDuel points in Week 9 and to lead the Texans with 9.1 targets, 5.4 receptions, and 64.2 yards. He has an $11,500 salary on Thursday's single-game slate. The Eagles have the the third-best pass defense and third-worst run defense in our advanced team metrics for the season, creating a funnel for Dameon Pierce and the ground game.
