Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was not seen during the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media.
Taylor did not practice on Wednesday after aggravating his ankle injury in last week's loss to the Washington Commanders. The Colts are managing his reps at practice and there's a chance that Taylor sits out Sunday's Week 9 matchup with the New England Patriots. Deon Jackson will likely handle most of the backfield work if Taylor is out, with Phillip Lindsay and newly-acquired Zack Moss backing him up.
Jackson averaged 19.5 touches and 106.0 yards in two games as the Colts' lead back earlier this season. The Patriots are allowing the second-fewest FanDuel points per game to the running back position this year and their run defense is No. 12 in numberFire's adjusted team metrics.
