Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate (neck) will not play in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, per head coach Todd Bowles.
Brate returned to practice in a limited capacity this week, but he will remain out for a third straight game because of a neck injury. Rookie fourth-rounder Cade Otton will continue to fill in as the Buccaneers' starting tight end.
In three games without Brate this season, Otton is averaging 5.7 targets (12.1% target share) and registering a 90.8% snap rate. Over the last two weeks, the rook has been running more routes (35.0 per game) than any other tight end in the league. However, Otton has a tough draw in Week 9 against a Rams defense that is allowing the third-fewest FanDuel points per game to the tight end position this season.
