Ravens' Gus Edwards placed in concussion protocol
Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards is in the NFL concussion protocol.
Edwards suffered a concussion at the end of the first quarter in the Ravens' regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens will face the Bengals again in the wild-card round on Sunday, so Edwards has just under a week to clear protocol and be able to play. If Edwards is unavailable, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill will have more carries available as the backup to J.K. Dobbins.
Edwards rushed 87 times for 433 yards and 3 touchdowns in nine games this season. Among the 55 running backs with at least 75 carries, Edwards ranked 14th in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry (0.10). Dobbins averaged the fourth-most Rushing NEP per carry (0.14) in that same group.
