Miami Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson is expected to start against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round on Sunday, per head coach Mike McDaniel.
Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) has been ruled out for a third straight game and Teddy Bridgewater (knee/finger) is still banged up, so the Dolphins are preparing for Thompson to start in Buffalo. Over the last two weeks, Thompson completed 32 of 52 attempts for 256 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He averaged 4.44 adjusted yards per attempt and had an average depth of target of 6.1 yards, so it will be hard to trust Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in the first round of the playoffs.
numberFire's models project Thompson for 13.4 FanDuel points versus the Bills and he has a $6,200 salary for the Wild Card Round. The Bills allowed the fourth-fewest FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks in the regular season and they finished with the No. 11 pass defense in our adjusted team rankings.
