Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle/trade request) is expected back at training camp this week.
Taylor was excused from the team last week to receive treatment as he continues to work his way back from ankle surgery. Per Stephen Holder of ESPN, Taylor still wants to be traded and he told the Colts he won't practice or play until his ankle is fully healed. Colts head coach Shane Steichen also said he doesn't know what day Taylor will rejoin the team. Deon Jackson and rookie Evan Hull will continue to see additional backfield reps until Taylor or Zack Moss (arm) are cleared.
Operating under the assumption Taylor will be back for Week 1, he is currently the RB8 in numberFire's preseason rankings. Our models project him for the third-most carries (329.9) and second-most rushing yards (1,581.2) this season, with 31.6 targets, 22.6 receptions, 167.5 yards, and 10.34 combined touchdowns.
