The Baltimore Ravens placed running back J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) on injured reserve Tuesday.
The move was expected after Dobbins tore his Achilles in the Ravens' Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. Justice Hill and Gus Edwards are expected to split backfield work moving forward. The Ravens also called up Melvin Gordon from the practice squad for additional depth. After Dobbins' injury on Sunday, Hill had 7 carries for 9 yards on 15 snaps while Edwards had 8 carries for 32 yards on 13 snaps. They will square off on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.
Hill ($6,100) is the RB35 and Edwards ($5,900) is the RB41 in numberFire's Week 2 rankings. Our models project Hill for 52.3 yards on 11.4 touches and Edwards for 49.3 yards on 10.1 combined catches and carries. The Bengals have the No. 20 adjusted pass defense in the NFL through one game, according to numberFire’s metrics. They allowed the Cleveland Browns running backs to rush 33 times for 142 yards in Week 1, and catch 4 passes (4 targets) for 21 yards.
