San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (ribs) is not practicing on Wednesday.
Samuel is dealing with a ribs injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of last Thursday's win over the New York Giants. He was able to return to the game and catch a touchdown, so hopefully the 49ers are just taking precautions in their first practice for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. In other San Francisco receiver news, Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) made it back to practice Wednesday after missing last Thursday's game. He stands to be a primary beneficiary if Samuel winds up being unavailable versus Arizona. There will be fewer snaps available for Ray-Ray McCloud, Ronnie Bell, Jauan Jennings (shin), and Chris Conley if Samuel and Aiyuk are both active.
Samuel has an $8,000 FanDuel salary and is the WR6 in numberFire's Week 4 rankings. Our models project him for 14.1 FanDuel points on 7.5 touches and 77.7 yards from scrimmage. The Cardinals' pass defense ranks 20th based on numberFire’s opponent-adjusted NEP model.
