Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane is expected to miss multiple weeks with a knee injury he suffered in Week 5 against the New York Giants, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Achane is expected to be able to return at some point this season, but he will likely land on injured reserve and miss a minimum of four games. Raheem Mostert is expected to be the Dolphins' feature back in the meantime and Jeff Wilson (ribs) could return from IR this week to take over as the backup. Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks are also in the mix for backup duty if Wilson isn't ready. The Dolphins are hosting the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 and should be in a run-friendly game script.
Mostert has an $8,500 FanDuel salary in Week 6 and is a top-five running back option in numberFire's weekly rankings. The Panthers have the worst adjusted run defense in the NFL, according to numberFire’s metrics, and are allowing the second-most FanDuel points per game to running backs this season.
