Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert is expected to handle a heavier workload while De'Von Achane (knee) is unavailable, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.
Achane is expected to miss multiple weeks with a knee injury he suffered on Sunday, setting up Mostert as the feature back for a prolific Dolphins offense. Jeff Wilson (ribs) is likely the favorite to be the primary backup when he returns from injured reserve, which could be as soon as this week. Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks are also in the mix for backup duty if Wilson isn't ready. The Dolphins are hosting the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 and should be in a run-friendly game script.
Mostert is the RB2 in numberFire's Week 6 rankings and our models project him for 16.8 FanDuel points, with 15.4 carries, 76.5 rushing yards, 3.0 receptions, and 24.7 receiving yards. The Panthers have the worst adjusted run defense in the NFL, according to numberFire’s metrics, and are allowing the second-most FanDuel points per game to running backs this season.
