Cardinals' Emari Demercado second on depth chart

Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado is second on the depth chart behind Keaontay Ingram.

What It Means:

Ingram (neck) is listed as the starter as he returns from a two-game absence, but the Cardinals are expected to use a split backfield after James Conner (knee) was placed on injured reserve. Demercado could take over as the lead back if he outperforms Ingram in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. The undrafted rookie has turned 20 touches into 88 yards from scrimmage (4.4 yards per touch) through five games. Meanwhile, Ingram has only gained 104 yards from scrimmage on 44 career touches (2.4 yards per touch).

Demercado ($5,900) is numberFire's RB31 in Week 6 and our models project him for 8.1 FanDuel points, with 12.1 touches and 52.9 offensive yards. Ingram ($5,600) is the RB32 and projected for 7.3 FanDuel points, with 10.5 touches and 44.1 yards from scrimmage. The Rams are allowing the 10th-fewest FanDuel points per game to running backs this season while their run defense is No. 16 in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP model.
