Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields suffered a dislocated right thumb in Sunday's 19-13, Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, head coach Matt Eberflus confirmed Monday.
Eberflus said the team doesn't have a timetable for Fields right now, but they expect him to be unavailable for Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent replaced Fields on Sunday and struggled in his NFL debut, so the Bears may roll with veteran Nathan Peterman at quarterback instead. This is terrible news for D.J. Moore and the entire offense.
Bagent lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown on his very first snap and he finished with 10 of 14 pass attempts for 83 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. The Raiders are allowing the 12th-fewest FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks and the 10th-fewest to wide receivers this season.
