Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery is set to miss "a little bit" of time, according to head coach Dan Campbell.
Montgomery's X-rays on his ribs came back negative on Sunday. However, it appears further testing revealed an injury to the rusher's rib cartilage. While Campbell was incredibly vague about a timetable, it seems a very real possibility that Montgomery is out until after the team's Week 9 bye. Jahmyr Gibbs has been out the last couple weeks due to a hamstring injury, so Craig Reynolds and Devine Ozigbo are the healthy backs on the roster. Kalif Raymond also saw snaps in the backfield in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay.
In 5 games this season, Montgomery has 94 carries for 385 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has also caught 6 of his 10 targets for 66 yards. He's averaging 16.4 FanDuel points.
