Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain that will not require surgery, reports Jeff Darlington of ESPN.
Tannehill suffered a similar injury last year that required surgery. Per Darlington, there's still no definitive timeline for Tannehill to return, but this is being described as "overall good news." Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said Tannehill will be evaluated after the Week 7 bye. He didn't indicate whether Malik Willis or rookie Will Levis will draw the start if Tannehill is unavailable for Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Among the 32 quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks this season, Tannehill is No. 20 in Passing Net Expected Points per attempt (negative-0.01). He's only averaging 11.0 FanDuel points in his five healthy games.
