Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (ribs) is not expected to play again in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said earlier in the week that Montgomery would miss at least one game due to the ribs injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is expected to return from a two-game absence and lead the Lions' backfield versus Baltimore in Week 7. Craig Reynolds (hamstring/toe) will likely mix in as well if he's available to play. In the one game Montgomery missed earlier this year, Gibbs ran 17 times for 80 yards and was targeted twice. He doesn't have more than 8 carries or 42 rushing yards in any other contest.
Gibbs is the RB9 in numberFire's Week 7 PPR rankings and our models project him for 12.9 FanDuel points, with 14.8 carries, 59.8 rushing yards, 3.4 receptions, and 24.6 receiving yards. The Ravens are 15th in FanDuel points allowed per game to running backs and their run defense is ranked 10th in our opponent-adjusted NEP model.
