Cleveland Browns running back Pierre Strong Jr. is expected to play a larger role while Jerome Ford (ankle) is unavailable, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic.
Ford is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with an ankle injury and Jackson believes Strong will play "a steady role as running back 1-B" next to Kareem Hunt. Strong set season-highs with 20 snaps and 8 carries in the Browns' 39-38 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7. He doesn't offer anything in the passing game, but Strong could emerge as the preferred early-down and short-yardage option over Hunt. The Browns are visiting the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8.
Strong ($5,300) is the RB45 in numberFire's Week 8 rankings. Our models project him for 6.0 FanDuel points, with 9.1 touches for 40.1 yards. Hunt ($7,000) is our RB15 and projected for 13.2 FanDuel points on 18.5 touches. The Seahawks are ranked 13th in FanDuel points allowed per game to running backs this season.
