San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is in the NFL's concussion protocol, per head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Shanahan said Purdy began experiencing concussion symptoms on the way home from Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He will likely be inactive for Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, especially with the 49ers having their bye in Week 9. Sam Darnold will start if Purdy is still in protocol, but San Francisco's skill players should be able to provide their typical fantasy value.
Among the 32 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs this season, Purdy is averaging the second-most Passing Net Expected Points per attempt (0.35). The Bengals' pass defense is 12th in numberFire’s opponent-adjusted NEP rankings and they rank 13th in FanDuel points allowed per game to quarterbacks.
