Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) is listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.
Tyson Bagent will make a third straight start in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints while Fields continues to recover from a dislocated right thumb. Bagent completed 25 of 37 pass attempts for 232 yards, no touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in Sunday night's 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Cole Kmet drew a team-high 10 targets from Bagent and D.J. Moore was second with 6 targets.
Bagent is the QB25 in numberFire's Week 9 rankings and our models project him for 11.1 FanDuel points, 179.4 passing yards, 0.80 touchdowns, 0.9 interceptions, and 11.3 rushing yards. The Saints are allowing the sixth-fewest FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season and their pass defense ranks 5th in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP model.
