Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel (toe) didn't practice on Wednesday for Week 9 against the New England Patriots.
Samuel tried playing through his toe injury in Week 8, but he left early after a season-low 13 snaps. He caught 4 passes on 4 targets for 22 yards before departing. Dyami Brown and Jamison Crowder will be in line for more work in Week 9 versus the New England Patriots if Samuel is sidelined.
Samuel is third on the Commanders in targets (43) this season and second in receptions (35) and yards (332). He has a 15.0% target share and is averaging 1.41 yards per route run with a 7.1-yard average depth of target. The Patriots are 21st in FanDuel points allowed per game to wide receivers and their pass defense is 27th in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP rankings.
