Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel (toe) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Samuel sat out practice all week. He tried playing through his toe injury in Week 8, but the veteran left early after a season-low 13 snaps. He caught 4 passes on 4 targets for 22 yards before departing. Dyami Brown and Jamison Crowder should be more involved on Sunday versus the Patriots.
Samuel is third on the Commanders in targets (43) this season and second in receptions (35) and yards (332). He has a 15.0% target share and is averaging 1.41 yards per route run with a 7.1-yard average depth of target. The Patriots are 21st in FanDuel points allowed per game to wide receivers and their pass defense is 27th in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP rankings.
