Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) is doubtful for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Fields practiced on a limited basis Friday after sitting out the first two sessions of the week, but he will likely remain sidelined for one more game. Tyson Bagent is set to make another start in place of Fields. He completed 25 of 37 pass attempts for 232 yards, no touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in Sunday night's 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Cole Kmet drew a team-high 10 targets from Bagent and D.J. Moore was second with 6 targets.
Bagent is the QB25 in numberFire's Week 9 rankings and our models project him for 10.9 FanDuel points, 177.8 passing yards, 0.77 touchdowns, 0.9 interceptions, and 11.2 rushing yards. The Saints are allowing the sixth-fewest FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season and their pass defense ranks 5th in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP model.
