Minnesota Vikings quarterback Jaren Hall will start Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, head coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed Friday.
Hall will make his first NFL start after Kirk Cousins (Achilles) was lost for the season. He played 11 snaps in the fourth quarter last week and completed 3 of 4 passes for 23 yards. The fifth-round rookie also rushed twice and lost a fumble. Josh Dobbs will be the Vikings' backup after he was acquired from the Arizona Cardinals earlier this week.
Hall is the QB23 in numberFire's Week 9 rankings and our models project him for 12.8 FanDuel points, with 219.3 passing yards, 1.02 touchdowns, 1.0 interceptions, and 8.6 rushing yards. The Falcons are ranked 19th in FanDuel points allowed per game to quarterbacks and their pass defense is 22nd in our opponent-adjusted NEP rankings. Among 28 qualifying preseason quarterbacks, Hall was 22nd in yards per attempt, 18th in adjusted completion rate, and 25th in average depth of target.
