Atlanta Falcons quarterback Taylor Heinicke will remain the starter in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals, per head coach Arthur Smith.
Heinicke completed 21 of 38 passes for 268 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He also rushed 3 times for 20 yards. Heinicke should benefit from another plus matchup in his second start and No. 1 receiver Drake London (groin) might be able to return. Jonnu Smith and KhaDarel Hodge led the Falcons with six targets each in Week 9.
Heinicke scored 15.7 FanDuel points in Week 9 and averaged 0.21 Passing Net Expected Points per attempt. Desmond Ridder averaged negative-0.07 Passing NEP per attempt as the starter this season, ranking eighth-worst among all quarterbacks with at least 100 attempts. Heinicke would be fourth-best in that group.
