New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito will start Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, head coach Brian Daboll confirmed on Wednesday.
This was expected after Daniel Jones was ruled out for the season with a torn ACL. DeVito, an undrafted rookie fro Illinois, completed 15 of 20 pass attempts for 175 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions in relief this past Sunday. He has also rushed 8 times for 29 yards and a touchdown over the past two games while playing 66-67 percent of the snaps. Saquon Barkley could potentially benefit from a larger workload, but this is a negative overall development for the Giants' offense. Matt Barkley will be DeVito's backup.
The Cowboys have the No. 3 total defense and No. 5 pass defense in numberFire's opponent-adjused NEP model, so DeVito is drawing a pretty brutal matchup in his first start. Our models project him for 10.9 FanDuel points and he's the lowest quarterback in numberFire's Week 10 rankings.
