The New York Jets announced that Tim Boyle will start at quarterback for the team in Week 12 against the Miami Dolphins while Zach Wilson moves to the bench.
The Jets are finally making a move at quarterback after stubbornly insisting on starting Zach Wilson for 10 weeks after Aaron Rodgers' Week 1 Achilles injury. Wilson ranks 30th in adjusted yards per attempt this season and has thrown just 6 touchdowns all year, making this move long overdue. It's unclear if new starter Tim Boyle is actually an upgrade, but the 4-6 Jets needed to make a move.
Wilson was miserable against the Buffalo Bills' banged up defense, completing just 7 of his 15 attempts for 81 yards while taking 5 sacks. His lone touchdown came on a yards-after-catch play by stud running back Breece Hall. The Jets will take a chance on Tim Boyle going forward.
