The New York Giants announced that they will open the 21-day practice window for quarterback Tyrod Taylor (ribs) to come off the injured reserve.
Taylor played admirably for the Giants earlier in the year, but the team's inability to protect its quarterbacks resulted in both starting quarterback Daniel Jones and Taylor suffering multiple injuries. While Jones' (knee) season is over, Taylor now has a chance to come back as the team finishes out its disappointing 2023 campaign. He'll compete for starting reps with Tommy DeVito, who has posted a surprising 2-1 record as the team's starter.
Apart from DeVito's record as the starter, Taylor has looked like the Giants' best option at the position when given the chance this year. He has averaged a team-best 7.1 adjusted yards per attempt while completing 57 of 87 attempts for 579 yards and 2 touchdowns.
