Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has entered the NFL's concussion protocols following the team's Week 14 game against the New York Jets.
Stroud was forced to exit Sunday's loss before the final bell, suffering a head injury while being spun down to the turf by a Jets pass-rusher. Stroud appeared to be in significant pain after the hit, but was able to leave the field under his own power. Davis Mills would be the team's presumed starter while Stroud recovers.
Stroud had a brutal afternoon while struggling to move the ball without any of his top pass-catchers, absorbing 4 sacks as he tried to buy his receivers time. He finished the outing with a season-low 91 passing yards.
