Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a sprain in his throwing shoulder in the team's Week 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Lawrence's sprain is to his throwing shoulder, but the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it is not believed to be a major issue. Still, it sounds like Lawrence could be forced to miss the team's Week 17 game against the Carolina Panthers as they push for a playoff berth.
Lawrence has taken a beating this season; he just barely cleared the NFL's concussion protocols in time to suit up this past Sunday and was already dealing with a painful ankle injury before that. Even with the Jaguars close to a second-straight playoff spot, the third-year quarterback could likely benefit from taking a week off.
