Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph is "scheduled to be the quarterback" in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks, per head coach Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin said Rudolph will take the first-team reps at practice to start the week while the team continues to evaluate Kenny Pickett (ankle). Rudolph completed 17 of 27 pass attempts for 290 yards and 2 touchdowns with no turnovers in the Steelers' 34-11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16.
Rudolph is averaging 0.24 Passing Net Expected Points per dropback while Pickett is registering negative-0.05 Passing NEP on 347 attempts this season. The Bengals have the No. 26 pass defense in numberFire's opponent-adjusted efficiency rankings, so Rudolph benefitted from a plus matchup last week. He will face the Seahawks' No. 14 pass defense in Week 17.
