The Atlanta Falcons have signed former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins to a four year contract.
Cousins signing with the Falcons is one of the first major dominos to fall in this offseason's quarterback shuffle. The productive veteran spent the last six seasons with the Vikings and routinely ranked in the top 10 in passing yards per game. An Achilles injury cut short his final year in Minnesota, but he'll now take his services to the Falcons as they attempt to take down the NFC South for the first time since 2016. The Vikings will now need to find their own starter for 2024.
Cousins' arrival in Atlanta should be a major boon to the fantasy outlooks of players like Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson, each of whom struggled to live up to expectations as the Falcons of the last few years failed to muster up even average quarterback play. The Falcons could be poised to become major playoff contenders if Cousins is fully healthy in his return from last year's injury.
