The Philadelphia Eagles and running back Saquon Barkley agreed to a three-year, $37.75 million contract on Monday.
The deal reportedly has a maximum value of $46.75 million and includes $26M fully guaranteed. Barkley is landing in a significantly better situation after spending the first six years of his career with the New York Giants, while the Eagles are upgrading at lead back from D'Andre Swift. Jalen Hurts might steal some short-yardage touchdowns from Barkley, but there should be plenty of touches and scoring opportunities for the Eagles' new addition.
Barkley averaged 14.5 FanDuel points across 14 games last season, with 247 carries, 962 rushing yards, 6 touchdowns, 41 receptions (60 targets), 280 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns. Among the 23 backs with at least 200 carries, Barkley ranked last in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry, but his offensive line didn't do any favors.
