Thomas Rawls T. Rawls

Thomas Rawls could lose work in Seahawks' backfield to Christine Michael

Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls remains entrenched as the team's starting running back, but ESPN Seahawks reporter Sheil Kapadia believes he could lose "six to eight touches per game" to Christine Michael.

What It Means:

Kapadia anticipates that Rawls will see about 15 carries per game to start the year, with Michael receiving seven and then "two to the other backs," referring to rookies C.J. Prosise (third round) and Alex Collins (seventh). Apparently, Michael has had enough of an "awakening" that the Seahawks intend on utilizing him as a significant part of their offense. Rawls is shaping up as a RB2 who should be targeted around the fifth round, while Michael is deserving of a late-round flier.

Our models currently rank Rawls as the 13th running back entering the season. We project him to rush for 985 yards and 7.69 touchdowns on about 14 carries a game this season, while adding 197 yards and 0.58 scores on 25 catches.
